Sitekit Editor - Complete Control Anywhere in The World

Sitekit CMS gives back to you full control of your content. No longer do editors need to go via the webmaster or external agency to get minor amendments done to the web site, suffering lengthy delays and open-ended costs - your staff can now do this themselves, whenever they want, and as often as required, at no additional cost.

Sitekit CMS provides you with a complete WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) editing environment in which routine tasks such as adding pages are complete in seconds with more powerful features taking only a few clicks to achieve.

Sitekit Editor - Complete Control Anywhere in The World in more detail

The system lets editors add, edit and delete pages, as well as add pictures and downloadable files (e.g. PDF) to those pages. You can assign a design layout (template) to a site and then change it later if you wish. If you change your mind about the page order or position they can both be edited. Text can be formatted, indented, bulleted and justified as if it was written using a word processor package.
Key features:

  • Easy Interface / Site preview/ tree view - you can choose the page you wish to edit by browsing it via its own navigation system in the administration system or alternatively you can search for content via a tree view (which also gives information about the page's status and visibility). Tree and preview panes can be toggled for low bandwidth connections. The preview pane can be scaled to 50% size for smaller screens.
  • Configurable 'wysiwyg' editors - Sitekit CMS offers two 'wysiwyg' text editor's options.
  • The first is full-featured allowing complete formatting of text elements. This editor also allows toggling and editing in HTML mode and pasting in from MS Office Word (whose extra tags it cleans). The second editor enforces standards compliance. It prevents your editors from writing any text that would reduce accessibility.
  • View before publish - prior to publishing, the user can compare their new version with the old version before either publishing or (in the case of the workflow model) applying to publish.
  • Functional content - see list of potential functional content modules.
  • 3rd party content.
  • Extranet protected content - Sitekit CMS supports the creation and editing of password protected subsection of a site for use as an extranet or intranet. Such designated pages do not appear in search results.
  • Personalized content - you can offer your users the opportunity to subscribe to pages so they receive updates on their content. They can also create a "My favourites" list.
  • Subwebs - Sitekit CMS allows you to serve branches of your navigation tree as separate web sites via a different domain. The branch can be independently branded and include or not include its parental navigation structure.
  • Files as pages - Sitekit CMS allows you to add files or images to the libraries and use them as complete pages.
  • Redirected content -Sitekit CMS allow you to create pages whose content is derived from another site by redirecting users.
  • Site export - Sitekit CMS allows branches of sites or entire sites to be converted to an exportable access database.

Sitekit CMS unique feature:

A strong element of Sitekit CMS is its support of XML. Sitekit CMS allows you to create pages part or all of which are derived from XML. As the XML source could be a URL from a remote server it creates the possibility of displaying queryable, searchable content from your own databases via the Sitekit CMS interface. More information on this is in the XML section.

Sitekit CMS unique feature:

Enforcing accessibility. With Sitekit CMS you can create templates and sites that adhere to all the relevant standards for eGIF and accessibility. However, what happens when your editors start adding and editing content? Sitekit CMS provides a text editor that allows the webmaster to enforce the standards. Any non compliant HTML or unrecognized tags is removed. Pages cannot be save till they are compliant.

The latest advances in portal content management are quickly becoming the glue that binds communities together. Sitekit CMS ensures social inclusion with accessible content, live on-line discussions, events and giving the ability for anyone to contribute.
